silhouette.“断其筋，留其⻣.”This means when adjusting the branch, we only break the inner sinew of it, but leave the bone (hard skin) straight so that the branch would show a natural curve. She analyses the internal structure of the monocotyledon stem, and then deconstructs the patterns with the theory. Then she
